day 2 : Doi Suthep Temple & Meo Hill-tribe village

Chiang Mai Doi Suthep Temple & Meo Hilltribe Village is set amongst the peaks of Doi Suthep. It has a lovely setting with a panoramic view of Chiangmai and the Mae Ping River valley. Although Wat Doi Suthep is the most recently built of the temples dating from the Lanna Thai period, it is the symbol of Chiangmai. The site was selected by sending an elephant to roam at will up the mountainside. When it reached this spot, it trumpeted, circled three times, and kneeled down and thus interpreted as a sign indicating and auspicious site.

08.30AM Doi Suthep Temple & Meo Hill-tribe village (Half day)
A pleasant winding drive up to Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the symbol of Chiang Mai, where the holy relic of the Lord Buddha is enshrined. 2 magnificent Nagas act as guardians as you ascend up the steps to the temple. A splendid view of town and the surrounding country -side can be seen from the temple grounds.
Drive further up the mountain to a Meo hill-tribe village. Migrants from China, they choose to live in self-sufficient villages while retaining their primitive culture, quaint customs and elaborately embroideried dresscs.

01.30 PM Home Industries (Half Day)
A paradise program for shoppers willing to enjoy the fun art of shopping see world -renowned native handicrafts actually being crafted by master craftsmen and their assistants.
Elaborate teak-wood carvings, intricate hand-made silverware, high-fired celadon, lustrous black lacquerware, Thai silk and cotton being woven the ancient, traditional way on rustic wooden looms, primitive paper-making process, hand-made paper and silk parasols in a dazzling blaze of rainbow hues. High skill and endless patience is a necessary virtue to work in these industries. Overnight at hotel.
day 3 : Elephants at Work & Orchid Farm

In the lush tropical jungle of Chiang Mai\'s Maesa Valley , a big family of elephants lives side by side with their mahout caretakers. "Maesa Elephant Camp" is home to one of the largest assembly of elephants in the north of Thailand . Our philosophy is to create a natural and healthy environment for the elephants while working to conserve and breed them,due to the dwindling number of Asian elephants left in the wild.

08.30 AM Elephants at Work & Orchid Farm (Half day)
A short pleasant trip out into the country - side. In lush jungle north of the city, a demonstration of how talented and trained elephants are used in the timber industry is held.
Using their tusks, powerful trunks and feet, they push, pull and roll logs in unison. This is a great opportunity for you to experience and elephant ride. (The ride is optional and extra). On returning, stop to visit an orchid farm filled with magnificent orchid blooms in a dazzling array of colours.

Have A Lunch.
After lunch, fly from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son. Nestled in a deep valley and hemmed in by high mountain ranges, the town is virtually covered in mist all year round.
Check in to a hotel. Take an exhilarating boat trip along the Pai River. Stop to see the unique and exotic Padong long -neck hill-tribe people at their village on the border. The women wear brass rings around their necks and it is the custom to add a ring on, each year.

day 4 : Elephant trekking
Have A Breakfast.
After breakfast, it’s “ride ‘em cowboy” time. A 1hour elephant ride through lush, Tropical jungle will keep you on your toes. On the ride, remember to “swing with the sway”.
Have A Lunch.
After lunch, head on to fish Cave where thousands of fishes, considered sacred, happily frolic in their natural habitat. Visit a few Burmese -style temples such as Wat Prathat Doi Kong Moo right on a hill besides town. A great view of town and the surrounding country -side can be seen from the top. Wat Phranon and Wat Chong Klang.
Then fly back to Chiang Mai on the late afternoon flight.
